PARLEY FOR THE OCEANS
WHAT WE DID
Roth Design, in collaboration with Roth Fablab, created the Acropora Pavilion for Parley's Waste to Art program, inspired by the coral reef of Cozumel. The structure, without right angles and with organic forms, mimics coral shapes and offers an immersive journey for visitors.
For its construction, a metal framework was covered with recycled polystyrene from waste on the island, along with plastic barrels thermoformed using artisanal techniques. The pavilion highlights the issue of plastic waste in the ocean, blending functionality and aesthetics in an interspecies proposal that seamlessly connects the interior and exterior.
